It’s been twenty years since the Sidemen broke up, and there’s no chance of getting the band back together. Which is just fine with Phil Swann. So, when his old drummer, Freddy, asks him to meet his new band Second Chances, Phil has no reason to suspect his world is about to be turned upside down.
Blown away by singer Shannon McKenzie’s voice, Phil promises to get Second Chances a recording contract. But it’s 1999 and the record business has changed. The corporate suits won’t cut a deal unless Phil can convince Chris Szlanski to sign on as producer. Phil hasn’t talked to his old songwriting partner—now a living legend—since the blow-up that ended the Sidemen. But with Shannon’s future on the line, Phil swallows his pride and persuades Chris to take the gig.
When over-the-top frontman Jack Street thunders into town on his Harley, the Sidemen lose all hope of escaping their past. Reliving the conflict that tore them apart, they rediscover the magic that brought them together and use it to help Shannon and Second Chances conquer the music business.
