Leading a team of typical embassy know-it-all's, Dolores "Dolly" Weill is busy assessing security in Mauritania's desert when she trips over bodies buried in the sand.

African farmers are being killed by gangs of white Maurs, and Dolly wants to find out who's orchestrating the attacks. But her boss at the embassy wants her back in the capital. The guys on her team have other ideas. They're hiding a family of African refugees and refuse to leave without them. Reluctantly, Dolly agrees to take the refugees to safety, not knowing they have information that can implicate government officials in the attacks. By the time she discovers the truth, it’s too late. Violence engulfs the capital. Thousands flee their homes in terror. No place is safe, not even the American embassy. Any moment, the killers will be coming over the wall.

Get caught up in Dolly’s internal struggle to buck the odds and do the right thing—expose the men behind the killings and save as many lives as possible.
